The following is the press release from Rotax announcing the top Rotax drivers in the USA.

The Rotax Max Challenge USA is very pleased to announce the top-five in each class for 2008. The first year of this proved to be a successful launch of the US Rotax National Driver Standings. The purpose of this program is to recognize every Rotax member in the United States and rank them by a weighted points system to others in their class around the nation. Racers earned points in their home series and the best five finishes were selected to use for final points totals.

Micro Max: Jesse Seeley - Georgia Rotax Challenge
In its first year the Micro Max class has been very exciting and the interest in this class for 2009 is off the charts. Every dealer in the US has received inquiries from new and existing members of the racing community. The first year of competition was primarily in the southeast where the class was first introduced.

Mini Max: Alec Udell - Southwest Regions Cup
The always competitive Mini Max class provided the closet race with the top 3, from 3 different areas of the United States, separated by only 16 points.

4. Toby Stewart - MRP - 932
5. Santino Ferrucci - Northeast Rotax Challenge - 875

Junior Max: Mark Pellegrini - Northeast Rotax Challenge
The winner of this class used a final race at the new New Jersey Motorsports Park the first of November to pass Mason Madej from the Midwest MRP Rotax Challenge for the lead in the final standings. Mason had held this lead since mid summer only to lose it at the very end. Mark was able to drop a poor finish in the middle of the season with a first place finish in the final race.

Masters: David Carlisle - Jim Russell Northern California Rotax Challenge
This is another class where the last race for the winner allowed a drop of a previous poor finish to overtake the leader. Erik Von Zeipel from Southern California held the lead for several weeks until fellow Californian David Carlisle used a last race win to take the top spot. The class produce the tightest battle as the top 5 were separated by 49 points.

Senior Max: Gregory Liefooghe - Jim Russell Northern California Rotax Challenge
The Senior Max class has the largest fields in the US but also produced the biggest margin with Gregory Liefooghe winning by 74 points. The most dominant of all the classes his only drop was a second place finish.

DD2: Glen Poy-Wing - Jim Russell Northern California Rotax Challenge

The DD2 class produced another tight finish with the battle for the top spot reaching east to west and north to south. At the finish the top 7 were only separated by 76 points. Glen Poy-Wing is the second points champion from Northern California.
