Kart Nation drivers did great at their home track for the SWRC season opener held at MSR Houston April 18th and 19th!

On Saturday the driving conditions were very difficult due to heavy rain and record rainfalls in the area. Qualifying rounds were completed before the race was called due to lightning and no visibility.

The Saturday pre-fnals were run Sunday morning and the Sunday qualifying, pre-finals and finals were run on Sunday afternoon.

For Saturday Finals Kart Nation swept the podium in the Rotax Mini Max class, with Timmy Reger finishing ahead of his brother Nicolas Reger and team mate Bucky Hewitt coming in third place. Unfortunatley both Reger brothers failed post tech due to the tape on the radiator not meeting Rotax standards, this was a non performance issue but strict Rotax rules were enforced, this placed Bucky Hewitt in 1st place in the Mini Max class for the Saturday race.

Alec Udell made his debut in the Rotax Junior class. Saturday finals saw Alec Udell in the top spot on the podium with fellow Kart Nation driver Mason Chelootz in 2nd place and CJ Cramm in 5th spot. Max Hewitt in the Micro Max class qualified in first position and finished the final heat in 4th. Jared Beyer qualified 2nd and finished 7th in the Stock Shifter class.

Sunday the event had perfect weather and was held under sunny skies. Max Hewitt finished the Micro Max final in 4th place. Bucky Hewitt came from 8th spot in the pre-final to finish first in Rotax Mini Max followed by Timmy Reger and brother Nicolas Reger finished 7th. Unfortunately Timmy was once again the victim of strict Rotax rules enforcement and was DQd for using an MSR Houston local option gear which was ruled illegal at the SWRC event. It was another repeat performance for Kart Nation drivers on Saturday in Rotax Junior with Alex Udell in 1st place, Mason Chelootz in 2nd and CJ Cramm finishing in 5th place out of the 12 kart field. Jared Beyer didn't make qualifying on Sunday and finished the final heat in 4th place.
