Tuesday, 23 March 2010 16:15
KART NATION/SRR Race Team Drivers Alec Udell and Mason Chelootz brought home great finishes this weekend in both cars and karts.

CKI LogoTop Kart/KART NATION/SRR driver Mason Chelootz powered by KN Engines shines well in Florida at CKI Winter Cup in Rotax Junior.  Chelootz struggled the first two rounds but the final round and championship ending round he finishes on podium in 3rd.  Chelootz had a beautiful run from a 5th qualifying position to on the podium in 3rd on Saturday and finishing the weekend with the overall position in 3rd.  KART NATION would like to congratulate Mason Chelootz on his CKI Florida Cup podium. View the event results on the CKI Championship Karting Intl website

KART NATION has moved into cars with their SRR Driver Development program with 4 drivers starting to experience car racing this year in the NASA (National Auto Sport Association) Spec Miata Challenge.  KART NATION’s Stuart Robinson said, “Developing a cost efficient ladder program has been my goal for awhile.  We are training our drivers to be competitive at a national level in Karting and, when old enough (14), helping them with their first experience in cars. Our Racers are well prepared with lots of training and track time. Based on our feedback from the NASA Officials It is working out quit well and personally I am very pleased with it.”

NASA Racing logoOver this past week KART NATION/SRR Driver Alec Udell entered his second car race with KART NATION SRR (Stuart Robinson Racing) Race Team in Dallas, Texas at the beautiful Motorsport Ranch Race Track.  Udell was teamed up with Connor Kelleher another KART NATION driver getting his first experience in cars.  The two were under leadership and teamed up with KART NATION’s Stuart Robinson.  The Spec Miata Challenge had 18 drivers and in qualifying it was Udell 4th, Kelleher 12th, and Robinson on Pole.  NASA requires Udell and Kelleher to start from the back due to their age which makes them start the 45 minute race with Udell in 15th and Kelleher in 16th.  Udell makes great improvement and driving through the field like a veteran to bring the 14 year old driver home to a 6th place finish while Kelleher gets collected in a turn one crash and Robinson finishes on the podium in 2nd capping off another great weekend of racing!
